Our mission is to foster the love of writing and reading for people of all ages and walks of life. We believe in the power of imagination, the importance of word play and the ability of words to communicate and transform experience.
Executive Director Beth Harrison founded and personally directs all programs. She has offered her popular creative writing summer camp since 2005. Peninsula Young Writers is part of Peninsula Writing and Literature Programs (PWLP), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated in 2009.
Beth has a PhD in American Literature from Columbia University and a secondary education teaching credential in English from Stanford University. During the academic year she offers custom writing workshops as well as college advising and essay consultation.
I like the camp because I like making up a story and decorating the cover of my book.
